As people who think outside the box, Molly + Lewis decided to elope with a handful of their friends and family with a wedding at Algiers Courthouse + Cafe Istanbul. They both took the ferry from the French Quarter, Lewis going first and Molly following, so she could surprise him with a first look. Once they reached the historic Algiers Point, Molly snuck up behind Lewis at the ferry terminal and wowed him with her classic wedding look before they walked to the courthouse together.
Molly’s beautiful bouquet is by We Are Gathered.
Despite setting a time with the justice of the peace weeks earlier, when they arrived at the courthouse, she was out for a long lunch. Molly + Lewis’s excitement was undeterred and they shared their first dance as they waited. I love that they made this hiccup of timing incredibly romantic. What a story!
After the quick ceremony, Molly + Lewis rallied with all their friends over at the local bar to pop some champagne. Of all the random things to happen there, The Crown and Anchor hadn’t ever seen a sight like this!
The following day hosted more festivities as Molly + Lewis threw a big party at Cafe Istanbul with allllll their loved ones, planned by Clark & Kelly. Let me tell you, this was a night to remember! To set the party vibes, the DJ spun old school vinyl all night while dance scenes from classic movies were projected above the stage.
Because they weren’t super wrapped up in the details, Molly + Lewis didn’t pass along a dress code. Everyone took that as a sign to go really crazy and showed up in colors, sequins, and glitter making for one big, shiny, happy visual!
Keeping with the relaxed and fun theme, Vietnamese food was on the menu, followed with nine different King Cakes from various bakeries. Hands down, the crowd favorite was from Duong Phong Bakery.
Molly is part of a Mardi Gras dance troop, so of course they all performed a choreographed dance together after changing into her second look of the night, a fabulous leotard.
The evening wrapped up with a second line down the streets of New Orleans to their final destination, Hi-Ho lounge. While this wedding at Algiers Courthouse + Cafe Istanbul may have started small and simple, it sure ended with a bang!
P.S. Another intimate wedding that ended with a fabulous party.
