This wedding at Ace Hotel New Orleans is for all the Prince + disco fans out there because Sean and Shannon threw one hell of a party. These two met studying abroad in Rome where Sean first kissed Shannon on the Spanish Steps. She then invited him to jump into the Trevi Fountain with her, where yes, they nearly got arrested. This was the start of a wild romance and after returning to the states, they held onto their long distance love. With Shannon in California and Sean in Virginia, they eventually both made their way to New York City to start a life together. Party animals at heart, New Orleans felt like the perfect setting for their bold, disco inspired wedding. When the day rolled around, The Big Easy gave them one of the windiest days on record. Perhaps the city knew that only a windy day would suit their whirlwind romance!Shannon pushed the discotheque vibes with studded green velvet platforms and her makeup look by Sarah Walsh Beauty included plum eyeshadow as a subtle tribute to "Purple Rain" by Prince. Sean and Shannon shared a blustery first look on the rooftop. Those bell sleeves sure had a moment of their own, right?! They said ‘I do’ in a candlelit ceremony in the Ace Hotel’s Barnett Hall, followed by a second line exit with a brass band and you guessed it, MORE WIND. With hurricanes in hand, the guests marched down the street in celebration. Not even those gusts could diffuse the party spirit! Returning to the Ace Hotel, everyone was welcomed by a Prince inspired reception featuring a disco ball, tropical flora, and a bold color palette. Decor highlights included a monochromatic balloon installation, tropical photo booth with neon signage, and custom vinyl holographic decals with the couples’ favorite Prince lyrics. I could have danced the night away at this wedding at Ace Hotel New Orleans and I'll never forget that blustery second line.P.S. Another New Orleans wedding with a special first dance.
